Territorial expansion since 1803, by William R...

Moving 3,000 miles away is no joke.  I’m leaving behind friends and family all in the name of a new life chapter and a new life adventure.  The idea with this here bloggy-thingy is to keep the people that I will miss (and miss terribly) in the know about my day-t0-day.  I can’t promise it will always be exciting or worth your time to read . . . but I can promise that it will be 100% me.

I am imagining my West Coast existence as kind of a Pretty Woman scenario where a hooker with a heart-of-gold (me, the neurotic New Englander) gets thrown up the socioeconomic hierarchy into a world of elitist boutique employees, manual transmission luxury cars, fat stacks of cash, polo, shellfish, and looooove (California with Nate).  If you can’t see the connection there, well then, you should hop off this blog-train ASAP.

In sticking with the California Vernacular theme, each of my posts *should* feature some SoCal mother-tongue (generally in the title) which will hopefully, but potentially loosely, connect to my thoughts/experiences of the moment.  We’ll see how long it takes for me to run out of CA jargon . . .

Thanks for reading, and I love all of you (yes, even you Creeper Mclurkson)!

Do you have any information on the Crazy Bird Lady or any of the gang that hangs out at Jack in the Box on Carlsbad Village Blvd? I’m thinking about doing some sort of photo essay….

Oh, I wish I had some info for you! I have been intrigued by that gang since I moved here (and in love with that freakin’ parrot). A photo essay is a great idea, and an excellent way to capture those characters. I live right in that area, but have always been too shy to strike up a conversation on my way by. I would love to hear more about your project though – shoot me an email if you like: HeatherSW@hotmail.com
